It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...in March

I heard a weather man once say about Amarillo that you can experience all four seasons in 20 minutes. So true. Thursday was beautiful and sunny temperatures up into the 70's. Friday this is what we saw.....

It's not uncommon to have snow during March. I can remember several times having snow for Spring Break. Katie was here during Spring Break one year and was able to see snow for the first time. Crazy Panhandle weather with tomorrow's high...65.

On to better news...we finally got a video of Jacob walking thanks to Wayne and his fun new camera.

He will take several steps at a time but when he really wants to get somewhere or get something he is not suppose to have he'd much rather crawl. Walking like in the video depends on his mood and who he can show off for. Wonder where he gets that from???? :)

Busy Busy Boy

Here are some pictures from the past few weeks. The tooth count is almost 4 on top and 2 on bottom. I say almost because one is still peeking through. A look into Jacob's "busy life".

Things to do in a day
1. Help with laundry

2. Do computer work-he has more computer knowledge than Mommy

3. Play Xbox

4. Look Handsome with daddy

His cute pediped shoes in the picture above are compliments of Jaxs (and Apryl). Thanks guys we love them! I mention them to relay yet another "my brain has slipped out my ear episode". I always see one random shoe by the side of the road and think "what kind of idiot loses one shoe?" Turns out I am that kind of idiot. I needed to make a trip to Sam's to get a new shredder for the church (it's a crosscut....it makes me happy). I decided to take Jacob along with me to Sam's before I dropped him of at my moms. We got to Sams I got Jacob in the cart and we headed inside. When we got inside I saw it, one shoe was missing. I looked out in the parking lot, no shoe. Must be in the car, nope. Upon leaving Sam's I drove like a stalker through the parking lot with no success. I decided it must have fallen off at home, but it wasn't there either. I decided to call that night and see if someone had found a shoe in the Sams parking lot and turned it in while muttering "what kind of idiot loses their kids shoe?" Sure enough some one had turned in a small camo pediped shoe. Yay! Turns out Jacob had figured out how to get the Velcro undone enough to wiggle it off on several occasion. Little stinker.

Can I get a witness

Have you ever had one of those moments you wonder if you are really starting to lose it? I have to admit every since Jacob was born I have them way to often. Last night after Jacob was in bed I decided to start some laundry. I put the soap and fabric softener in the washer and started it so it could fill up before I put the clothes in. I then proceeded to fold some towels that were in the man room. From there back into the living room to pick up a little and send some emails via my phone. It was getting closer to my 10:00 p.m bedtime, but I wanted to wait until the clothes finished to put them in the dryer. Finally I hear the washer turn off and in my zombie state (because it was now past 10:01 p.m) stumble to the washer.
I open the washer...there were no clothes in the washer. I look down, yep, there they were still on the laundry room floor. Turns out to get them clean you actually have to put them IN the washer. Needless to say no loads were done last night, I just headed to bed in disgust.

Wild boys

Happy St. Patricks day everyone!
Not much has been happening around the Lyons house other than the normal weekly stuff. Tuesday-Thursday we are having a "Deafazing Race" with the youth at the Deaf church. It is a three day scavenger hunt which should be fun.
It has been a little strange not seeing Katie this week for Spring break, but we are counting down to her visit for Easter. She is going later this week to Seaworld with her mom, so we are glad they are getting to spend some time together before her new sister arrives.
I took a video the other night that I want to post despite possibly getting in trouble with my husband. I was taking a shower one night and could hear Jacob laughing and squealing along with Brancent. Which is not an unusual occurrence in our house, it's actually a nightly ritual. We have discovered if something startles Jacob a lot of times it will make him laugh, also if you start to chase him or jump out from behind a wall he gets really excited. Jacob would stand at our coffee table box and Brancent would run/slide towards Jacob making sounds only Daddy can. Jacob adores Brancent and it's so funny to watch them play. You can hear Brancent really laugh cause of the look on Jacobs face. The video is poor quality but you'll get the idea.

How to open gerber stars by Jacob

1. Grip firmly with teeth....even if you only have 2

2. Pull up

3. Grab and eat as many stars as possible

Tuesday at my mom's house Jacob took his first step. Wednesday he did it again. I just now got a message from Brancent that he took 3 steps on his own...here we go!

Forgotten pics

I stumbled today across some pictures I had intended to post last month after valentines day and never did.

All in one day

We survived the wedding....barely. It was a lot of fun, but like all weddings it was tiring. I got to the church at 12:30 and Brancent and I left the reception at 10:45 p.m. My parents brought Jacob to the wedding and stayed at the reception until his bedtime. Needless to say the Lyons family took a very long nap Sunday afternoon.

My handsome boys

Brancent's Aunt Donna came last week and stayed for a week. His grandma was in the hospital then rehab and now back home. We found out his Uncle was coming in Saturday morning and would then drive back to Arkansas with Donna on Sunday. I have never meet Puddin (no not his real name, which shall remain a mystery to the blogger world) but I have heard all about him. He said the same to me so although I meet him for the first time it felt like I had known him for years. Brancent adores Puddin and it's safe to say the feeling is mutual. Puddin works out of town a lot and was gone every time Brancent went to visit. They hadn't seen each other in 10 years so they had a lot of fun catching up. Jacob had fun showing off and watching his second cousins play.

Donna, Brancent, Jacob and Puddin (It took 3 trys to get a picture with his eyes open!)

Something else that happened that we are super excited about was Brancen't boat sold! YAY! We could have held out and tried to get more, but Brancent just waned to be done with it and though I didn't tell him I felt the same. Now it's someone else's problem!
Sold the boat, visited Uncle Puddin and a wedding....all in one day!
