I'm back, and venting

Hello everyone. I am back from a very intense weekend. I am heading into a crazy week with lots of work. I am having Jacob withdrawals and not feeling like mother of the year of the moment :) So here is why I went to Atlanta. I will be working part time (weekends) for a great company called Sorenson doing video phone interpreting (www.sorenson.com). They are so in tune with taking care of the interpreters and are professional to the max-yet they still hired me! I will be able to do church work and community interpreting during the week. I have had several people ask me; well how are you going to have time to do that, your're leaving Jacob?!? Not that it is anyones business but let me set the record straight. I love my family and I want nothing more than to provide the best for them. Because of some bad decisions we are in an unbelievable amount of debt. So I now have the oppertunity to make really good money and make progress in paying off credit cards. So that's my plan. If you want to encourage me while I work like a crazy woman go for it, if you are a naysayer and have nothing but critisim, keep it to yourself or offer to pay off my bills.

Vent part 2. On the topic of Fall Festivals....Christmas (like several of our holidays) actually was started by the early church who did not want to take part in the pagan worship of the sun god. So they picked that same time as the pagan festival to celebrate the birth of the Son. Is that not what shinning for Christ in a dark world is about?? Taking what the world intends for evil and turning it into a time to worship and teach our kids to worship God. So all that to say I am not evil for wanting to host a fall festival. If don't agree with my thinking, fine....don't come :) but we'll still take your candy donations.
Have a great day everyone!

Mel,
I encourage you for taking the initiative to pay off bills NOW instead of waiting til they are too bad to not be able to pay off and for being a person who does work to support her family instead of living off medicaid and sitting at home all day complaining about people who work too much. Much props to you!

Wow, sounds like the swopes family philosophy? You know i am sick and tired of other people trying to tell others how to live their lives. Especially when they are just as screwed up as everyone else. we just have admitted we a screwed up. A little time away from kids now can mean alot of time with them later! jared

I agree with Apryl. I know it's hard to be away from your family and especially Jacob. It won't take you too long. hang in there.
