I'm back, and venting

Hello everyone. I am back from a very intense weekend. I am heading into a crazy week with lots of work. I am having Jacob withdrawals and not feeling like mother of the year of the moment :) So here is why I went to Atlanta. I will be working part time (weekends) for a great company called Sorenson doing video phone interpreting (www.sorenson.com). They are so in tune with taking care of the interpreters and are professional to the max-yet they still hired me! I will be able to do church work and community interpreting during the week. I have had several people ask me; well how are you going to have time to do that, your're leaving Jacob?!? Not that it is anyones business but let me set the record straight. I love my family and I want nothing more than to provide the best for them. Because of some bad decisions we are in an unbelievable amount of debt. So I now have the oppertunity to make really good money and make progress in paying off credit cards. So that's my plan. If you want to encourage me while I work like a crazy woman go for it, if you are a naysayer and have nothing but critisim, keep it to yourself or offer to pay off my bills.

Vent part 2. On the topic of Fall Festivals....Christmas (like several of our holidays) actually was started by the early church who did not want to take part in the pagan worship of the sun god. So they picked that same time as the pagan festival to celebrate the birth of the Son. Is that not what shinning for Christ in a dark world is about?? Taking what the world intends for evil and turning it into a time to worship and teach our kids to worship God. So all that to say I am not evil for wanting to host a fall festival. If don't agree with my thinking, fine....don't come :) but we'll still take your candy donations.

Tidbits

Not much has been going on blog worthy but here are a few tidbits from our lives.

Monday night the Deaf church softball team won a game!! YAY!! They have a 30 minute makeup game Monday then the season will be over.

Noni and Popi (my grandparents) are in Alabama at the Pope family reunion. They get back tomorrow and we are very ready to see them and hear how the southern kin folk are doing :)

Jacob has started laughing and it is so funny. We act like idiots trying to get him to do it more. Brancent gets him to laugh often, guess he's funnier than me.

No, it wasn't that cold this morning, but my son lacks hair and we needed to test drive the beanie.
Nelva and Brancent both paged me today that Jacob rolled from back to tummy twice. So now my rollie pollie is truly rollie!

I have been saving this pic for when I didn't have much to blog about so now's the time.

After Jacob was born a friend and her little boy came to see us. He was in the crawling/hold on to things and walk stage. We put some toys in the floor, but like a normal kid he was much more interested in Brancen't toy...the Xbox 360. White, pretty green light, who wouldn't be fascinated by it? So he made a grab for it when his mom intervened and ruined his fun. Of course this happened like 5 times. After they left Brancent said we need to buy something with doors before Jacob starts crawling, I said sure but we have lots of time. I kidd you not 2 days later he sends me an email with a picture of an entertainment cabinet from his work. Nice, but I argued it was to pricey and big. He countered that it was 50% off plus his employee discount and it wasn't to big. So I texted the dreaded words "I don't care, do whatever you think but make a wise $ decsion. So I get home and the giant awaits me. Brancent was so excited about it I couldn't be to upset. He even pointed out the detail matches well with the detail on an antique dresser in the same room. It is beautiful and I have enjoyed it...at least he's got good taste. The beast

Go Soxs!

We made it back from Dallas and had a great trip. The Red Soxs lost the night we went but we still had fun and got to see Youkilis hit a home run. Brancent and Matt were about 20 feet from Beckett while they warmed up so they were excited. There were almost as many Sox fans as Ranger fans. We went early and toured the museum and ballpark and watched the teams warm up. If you ever get to go, the tour it is well worth it. We got to go in the media room, press box, a suite, home team dug out, home team batting cages...We had to get Jacob a sling that his feet could be loose because his legs seldom stop moving. Brancent wore it during the tour and Jacob seemed to think he was flying. Arms out and legs kicking it was entertaining...to me anyways :) The tour guide asked us if Jacob was going to be a Red Soxs fan....my reply "He doesn't have much of a choice" Gene wore a Rangers hat so Brancent and Matt picked on him the whole time and he dished it right back after the Rangers won. Jacob did well the whole trip but like everyone was tired of being in the car by the time we arrived home last night. I am hoping to find on online album to load all of my pictures on but for know here are a few.

Bummer

Please be in prayer for Katie. She has pneumonia and won't be meeting us in Dallas. She has been extremely sick and her asthma only makes it worse. We are bummed we won't get to see her but are praying she gets well so she won't miss any school next week. Will post lots of pics when we get back! Have a great weekend!

Yes... he's crazy

In case you didn't know my husband is crazy. He is an extreme dare devil when it comes to stuff like 4 Wheelers. Maybe it is just because he's a boy but it scares me. His mini-me is sure to follow in his Daddy's dangerous footsteps. Saturday afternoon we went to the river and rode 4 wheelers with PawPaw MeMe and the Barton Family (Thanks guys!) It was perfect weather cloudy and cool. I was back in the RV with Jacob when it started raining. By the time Brancent got back his front was soaked and his back was dry...riding into the rain is always fun! Labor day was great, got some cleaning done and actually accomplished a few other things! YAY! Brancent Katie and I are counting down the days until we meet up in Dallas. Can't wait! Hope everyone had a great Labor day!Jumping on the sand banks
