Random Fess ups

It's been a long time so some of these are from way back...here goes.

1. I did not let Jacob pick toilet paper off an almost empty roll just to keep him busy so I could finish putting on my make up.

2. I did not take a picture of myself while driving. I likewise was not tempted to put a sultry look on my face, roll down the window and tell the person next to me "this is for my personal website" before laughing hysterically and driving away.

3. I do not have a sick sense of humor

4. I did not raid the chocolate stash in the preschool room 4 times last week....Sorry Lib, I'll buy some more.

5. If I ruled the country I would not give lower tax refunds to those that use government programs like medicaid, food stamps, WIC, Hud...

6. I am not still terrified Jacob will stop breathing in his sleep....Melissa does that ever go away???

7. I do not know my husband is up to something when his messages start with "honey baby...."

8. I do not screen my calls when I am at home

9. I do not secretly enjoy watching NASCAR with my hubby

10. I did not get a Nikon D40 SLR last week...nor did I profit from circuit city liquidating

Look for new pics from my D40 coming soon. I'll be shooting a wedding at the end of this month so I will be practicing a lot!

Pasta!

Last week we had pasta twice. I love my carbs :) One night we had whole wheat spiral pasta and a few nights later we had angel hair pasta. I gave Jacob the cooked pasta thinking he would probably play with it. Nope....he ate it like he was starving and wanted more. Jacob is doing good and cruising all over the house. His new favorite thing to do is crawl into his bedroom and play with all his bedroom toys....and whatever he can pull off the changing table. Brancent is good, trying to sell his boat, if anyone is interested call me! Katie is well other than having strep last week. She has been having some trouble in school so please keep her in your prayers. She is very sensitive so when kids make fun of her family it takes her heart awhile to recover. All that said here are some recent pictures. Brancent said he looked like a catfish....cutest one I've ever seen!
Finger painting with ketchup, mustard, and applesauce
(Afterwords I caught him licking the tray)

Thanks to Libby for finding me a cute background. Melissa was going to make me one but I never sent her pics (I honestly don't have any recent ones of me that are decent...someday). You girls are whizzes!

Jacob's First Flight

I had to add these because it was such a momentous occasion. He was so good. However he did try to grab the hair of the person in front of us. One guy had a huge bald spot on the top of his head and I told Jacob (signed only of course) that some other kid had already pulled that mans hair out so we should leave what little he has left alone. He didn't understand, but Brancent and I had a good laugh. He also polished his flirting skills every time the flight attendants walked by....oh boy.

Such a ham!

Hey, what are they doing with my car seat?

The very first flight...soooo early!

Rockdale, TX

January 16-19 we were blessed to be able to spend some time with Katie, Jesse and his girlfriend Krystal at Jesse's house in Rockdale. Jesse and Brancent have been friends for a long time and Katie knows him as Uncle Jesse. Jesse and Brancent are two peas in a pod and are so funny when they are together. We had a blast. Katie got to play games with Krystal, ride and feed horses, and ride 4 wheelers. Krystal was great helping with Jacob, who was into everything!!! Jacob got to see and pet his first horse and would get so excited any time we would walk near the horses. Jacob did so good on his first plane ride. He played with the seat belts, tray tables, flirted with the flight attendants and tried to play with the people's hair who sat in front of us. Getting off almost every flight people commented on how good he did. Please God let that continue!!! Thanks to all of you who prayed for us concerning our trip. One of the highlights was Katie getting to go hunting with Brancent and Uncle Jesse. They didn't get any pigs but she said "I could hear them but we never saw them!" sneaky porkers. We also got to watch Jesse train a horse for his cousin. (but first she jumped the fence and Jesse had to get her from the neighbors field where other untrained horses were, there was a small fight then everyone went back to grazing-it was pretty exciting. and of course Jesse caught her. She stayed penned up for the night. Katie and I decided that was her time out). We went to church Sunday morning where Jesse's uncle is the pastor, his mom plays the piano etc. Brancent had always told me about Jesse's parents and how Jesse's dad would teach them in Sunday school and tell him stories from the Bible. Talk about a rarity, a dad who signs and teaches his deaf son the Bible. I had to fight back tears watching him teach. How I long for every deaf (and hearing) to have a parent like that. Here are a few pics and of course more will be on the shutterfly site.

Ready to hunt!

Celebrating Jesse's 32nd birthday! We ate lunch at his parents house after church. We couldn't have had better food or company. His family is fabulous.

Bubble Boy...who needs cable? :)

When Jacob was about 4 months old Brancent started blowing bubbles with his gum and Jacob would stare at them for the longest time. Not to long ago he was blowing bubbles again Jacob tried to grab the bubble. It was funny to watch Brancent suck the gum back before Jacob could get it. Recently Jacob has developed a new response when he is not allowed to grab the bubble.....

Forgot him....

I forgot the cutest part of all the little elephant! There are several more things in each room but can't fit them on the blog. The church website www.pbdc.us has a link to photos where more are posted.
